Joe Kelly, Jr.
Hello, I'm Joe Kelly, Jr., Editor-In-Chief of Die Cast X Magazine
After spending several years as a recording artist and vocalist, Joe Kelly, Jr. became involved with his family business as a technician and on-site troubleshooter specializing in automated fuel management systems on Long Island. After submitting a review for a model car to a popular scale model magazine, Kelly was asked to join the publication's editorial staff. When that publication went out of business, Kelly, who had by then begun producing video model reviews from his home, decided to start a publication of his own. The magazine lasted three years. Then Kelly was recruited by Air Age Media, in Wilton Connecticut, to contribute his editorial style to Die Cast X Magazine. All of Kelly's paid subscribers followed along as part of the arrangement made with the publishing company. Soon, Kelly was appointed Editor in Chief of Die Cast X, a position he still enjoys as of this writing. In addition to being a member of the Die Cast Hall of Fame and the Diecast Scale Model Hall of Fame, Kelly has appeared on national television on HGTV ("Look What I Did"), SyFy ("Collection Intervention") and others, and has interviewed such personalities as Mario Andretti, Chip Foose, George Barris, Wayne Carini, and Fireball Tim Lawrence; he is also the Master of Ceremonies for the annual DiecastSpace Die Cast Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. Joe Kelly Jr. now hosts a bi-weekly online review show called "Cup O' Joe", and produces short-format video review segments of current hobby products from his studio on Long Island. These videos, and the live show, are well received by the industry and collectors alike. Kelly is married with two daughters, and is an avid collector, car enthusiast, and consultant to the hobby trades.
